Melbourne based Mining and Energy Photographer working nationwide
Creating powerful and dramatic images underground requires thorough preparation, a rock solid familiarity with your primary and backup equipment, combined with an experienced creative eye. Conditions underground are often challenging, but once embraced can offer much more than the ubiquitous ‘miner standing looking at the camera’ type of shot. I particularly enjoy combining light painting with flash to complement the vehicle lights and torches used underground; an example of which can be seen in the first image below left.
